OBITUARY:
Dorothy (Dot) Posegate, 79, Ames, died Saturday of cancer at her home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church, Ames, with the Rev. Christopher J. Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Born to George and Rose Vogt in rural Nevada, Posegate was a lifetime resident of Story County and lived in Ames since 1936. She married Bernard Posegate at her home in rural Nevada on Feb 26, 1935 and was manager of the sporting goods department in Younker’s, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Ames.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard Posegate of Ames; two sons, David Posegate of Ames and Steven Posegate of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren; a brother, William (Bill) Vogt of Ames; and a sister, Elizabeth Augustine of Brush, Colo.

Final Rites Friday In Fort Dodge
Funeral services for Nature (Nate) Posegate 66, who died Wednesday at Fort Dodge following a two year illness, will be at 1 o’clock Friday in the Lauftrs-weller Funeral Home, south 11th St., in Fort Dodge and burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.
He was born the son of G. W. and Jennie Posegate, long-time residents of Story County, and never married.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Jennie Illingworth of Fort Dodge, three brothers, Thomas Posegate and Claude Posegate, both of Fort Dodge and P.E. Posegate of Story City and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Ness of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Alf Westoff of Rockwell City.
