Obituary

Bernard Vincent Posegate was born August 27, 1911 to Pearl E. and Lulu B. (Sutherland) Posegate in Nevada, Iowa. He attended Shipley Schools. Bernard and Dorothy Vogt were married February 26, 1935 until her death in 1991. He worked for the City of Ames from 1951 until retirement in 1976. He and his wife enjoyed attending Ames High School and Iowa State University athletic events

He is survived by sons David (Sal) Posegate of Ames, and Steven (Alicia) Posegate of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four grandchildren, Krista Sackett, Bret Posegate, Holly Posegate, and Matt Posegate; six great-grandchildren, Riley Sackett, Pete Sackett, Luke Posegate, Mike Posegate, Steven Posegate, and Kyleigh Posegate; and a brother, Bob Posegate.

Bernard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Dorothy; his brothers Russell and Lowell; his sisters Dorothy and Thelma; his grandson Brian; and long time friend Lucilie Berrett.

Bernard passed away August 6, 2012 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames at 100 years of age.
